MONTE STOTT
A licensed engineer in California since 1989, Monte
Stott has performed the structural design of over 3,000 new builldings,
renovations, additions, foundation repairs, seismic upgrades and other
projects. Monte’s expertise covers the breadth of modern
construction methods including wood, reinforced concrete, cmu blocks,
steel, sips panels, unreinforced masonry and brick.
Prior to founding Monte Stott & Associates,
Monte served on a diverse range of engineering assignments such as the
Hubbell space telescope (with Lockheed), post-tensioned bridges (with
the Swedish Department of Transportation), and a nuclear waste
processing facility (with Bechtel). A younger and more fit (though more
sleep deprived) Monte was also a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Seabees.
In his spare time, Monte coaches youth baseball
teams.
DAVID HATFIELD
David Hatfield brings over twenty-five years of
experience in residential and light-commercial projects to develop
structural solutions that are both economical and elegant. He also
specializes in passive solar design. David has worked with Monte Stott
& Associates since relocating to the Bay area in 2001 from an
Island in Puget Sound outside Seattle.
In his spare time, David can be found on the open
ocean, where his adventures include a solo journey from California to
Florida on his 36-foot sailboat.
MOIRA WILLIS
Moira came to Monte Stott & Associates from New
Zealand via Japan in 2002. She brings a civil engineering degree
from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, another seismically
hyperactive area. Moira became licensed in California in August 2008.
Moira and her husband settled in San Francisco in
1998; they have two young children and are expecting a third. Among
other things, she enjoys seeing San Francisco from her bicycle and
appreciates the amazing variety of food to be found in the Bay area.
MICHAEL INGRAM
...is a Sarasota, Florida native who transplanted
in San Francisco for the second time when he moved to the Bay Area with
his wife in 2001. He is a bicycle enthusiast, enjoys bouldering in his
spare time, and applied to the landscape architecture programs at both
Berkeley and Davis this past fall. He is nervously awaiting the arrival
of his acceptance letters as well as his first child, a boy.
JESSICA BODDORFF
Jessica recently relocated to the Bay Area from
Phialdelphia where she worked the last three years as an architectural
designer focusing on low-income and affordable housing design. She
gained an appreciation for the diversity of housing in the U.S. after
spending three months criss-crossing the country on a sixty-five city
architectural study tour. Her favorite designs are those which question
themselves. In her spare time she volunteers with Architecture for
Humanity and mentors high school girls interested in technical studies.
Jessica is a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of
Architecture and a concentration in visual studies.
